data-once=\"unesco_hub_link\"><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity<\/span><\/em><\/a><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">,\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">implemented by the UNESCO Regional Office in Havana and\u00a0funded by the European Union,\u00a0has partnered with\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiftylab.eu\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Fifty Lab Music Festival\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-GB\">to provide young, emerging Caribbean musicians with an opportunity to perform and engage for the first time in artistic exchange at one of Belgium&#8217;s premier alternative music events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The Caribbean creators selected will be from some of the 17 countries covered by the <\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Transcultura\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">programme:\u00a0Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Through this call and joint action for cultural exchange and cooperation, the UNESCO\u00a0<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Transcultura\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">programme will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Cover the costs (a return trip in economy class, airport pick-up and drop-off, including at the city of origin, visa costs \u2013 if necessary \u2013, accommodation in a 3-star hotel \u2013 or similar \u2013 in Brussels, Belgium, 3 meals a day and daily transportation\u00a0\u0336\u00a0 if required \u2013 for international travel to Brussels, Belgium, from 8 to 16 November (8 nights) for a maximum of 4 musicians from the Caribbean, representing at least two of the three linguistic zones covered by the\u00a0<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Transcultura\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">programme (English, French and Spanish), in the following categories:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Saxophone<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Trumpet\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Percussion set (<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Bat\u00e1<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0drums; miscellanea, shakers,\u00a0<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">botija<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, conga drums,\u00a0cymbals, bembe\/bemba drums)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Piano and keyboard<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Enhance the international exposure of the young Caribbean musicians and showcase their talent through international presentations in the framework of a major European festival, while identifying further opportunities for collaboration between them and European artists.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Support the artists\u2019 international visibility through press conferences, activities promoting their work, distributing their music albums and networking with their European peers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Applications must be submitted by\u00a0<\/span><strong>Friday 27 September
