The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands,\u00a0 Forestry, and Marine Resources launched the process on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, and\u00a0 predicts a significant increase in payouts due to the vast number of applications received.<\/p>\n<p>Affected farmers with more than five acres of land would get a one-time income support\u00a0 payment of XCD nine thousand dollars (EC$9000.00), while farmers with less than five acres\u00a0 will receive a one-time payment of XCD four thousand five hundred dollars (EC$4500.00).\u00a0 The payments will be processed through the banks, credit unions, and district offices in\u00a0 installments.<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Lennox J. Andrews, Minister for Agriculture and Lands, Forestry, and Marine\u00a0 Resources, stated that he is \u201c\u2026indeed satisfied that the necessary due process was properly\u00a0 handled and are happy that payment is finally rolling out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry is assuring farmers that payouts will continue in the upcoming weeks.
