Hillsborough, Carriacou-<\/strong>The first underwater sculpture park in the Grenadines was officially launched in Carriacou.<\/div>\n

During a Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) consultation in July 2023, Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon. Tevin Andrews, suggested the idea of the 13-square-mile island having its own sculpture park. Today, the park, dubbed \u201cA World Adrift\u201d, is a reality.<\/div>\n

Minister Andrews, speaking at the official launch of the park, said we must continually find ways to boost the local economy, and described the park as an added attraction.<\/div>\n

He asked the business community here whether they are involved in the hospitality sector or not to work on improving their level of customer service.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Kirl Hoschtialek, Chief Operations Officer of the GTA, noted that in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, which left a trail of devastation, the underwater sculpture park is a reminder of the power of renewal, hope, recovery and resilience, not just for our land but for our seas as well.<\/div>\n

\u201cThis park is not just an addition to Carriacou’s cultural landscape; it is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and climate resilience\u201d, Hoschtialek added.<\/div>\n

The park, which features local students from primary and secondary schools here, is critical in positioning our islands as leaders in sustainable tourism, by integrating art with marine conservation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
