A two (2) day workshop on Physical Literacy (PL) will be held in Grenada on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th February\u00a0 2025 at the Grenada Youth Cultural and Recreational Centre in Morne Rouge.<\/p>\n
An opening session will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, 25th February 2025, with a\u00a0 presentation on the \u201cGlobal Impact of Physical Literacy.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop is organised by the National Sports Council (NSC) in collaboration with\u00a0 the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n
The workshop facilitator, Dr. Dean Kriellaars, is a professor from Canada who has been\u00a0 travelling the world providing education on physical literacy. He is a global leader in\u00a0 physical literacy research, knowledge translation, and application in many sectors,\u00a0 including physical education, sport, recreation, play, design, and the performing arts.\u00a0 He has numerous successful interventions in communities for enhancing physical\u00a0 literacy and, in turn, for fostering physical activity.<\/p>\n
Stakeholders from sports associations, clubs, parish sports councils, and the wider\u00a0 community have been invited to the opening session.<\/p>\n
The workshop falls within the National Sports Council\u2019s mandate through the National\u00a0 Sports Policy to encourage physical activity in Grenada.<\/p>\n
The concepts that would be shared in the workshop are expected to be discussed and\u00a0 reviewed and a recommendation presented for improving the delivery of physical\u00a0 activity in the school, home, and workplace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
