Minister for Tourism, Senator Adrian Thomas, has\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>expressed pride in the achievements of Wrenroy \u2018Blaka Dan\u2019 Ogiste, who won the\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>inaugural Ultimate Soca Champion Competition, and finalist Shondell \u2018Dash\u2019 Amada, who<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>also represented Grenada at the event held in Trinidad on February 20, 2025.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ministry has extended heartfelt congratulations to \u2018Blaka Dan\u2019 on his remarkable\u00a0 victory in the Ultimate Soca Champion Competition with his hit song \u2018Blessings.\u2019 Minister\u00a0 Thomas said, \u201cYour win is a proud moment for Grenada, and we celebrate your\u00a0 outstanding talent, hard work, and dedication to the soca genre.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI can confidently say that claiming the first major title of the competition is indeed historic\u00a0 for the Spice Isle and opens up our cultural potential to even greater things,\u201d Senator\u00a0 Thomas added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry also congratulated Shondell \u2018Dash\u2019 Amada on his impressive performance,\u00a0 which showed his artistry and passion. \u201cWhile you didn\u2019t place in the top three, your\u00a0 performance was truly inspiring, and you have made us all proud.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Thomas stated, \u201cThe Ministry of Tourism, the Creative Economy, and Culture, and\u00a0 all of Grenada, are proud that our artistes have represented us so well on the international\u00a0 stage.\u2026.Both of you continue to elevate Grenada\u2019s music scene and represent our culture\u00a0 with excellence. We look forward to your continued success and are excited about the\u00a0 future of Soca in Grenada.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Thomas also highlighted the potential of local artistes, referencing the success of\u00a0 Hollice \u2018Mr. Killa\u2019 Mapp in a previous International Soca Competition in Trinidad. The recent\u00a0 achievements of both \u2018Blaka Dan\u2019 and \u2018Dash,\u2019 as well as all other artistes representing\u00a0 Grenada, further solidify our talent on the international stage.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
