Grenada is celebrating a moment of national pride as Carriacou native Jamora Alves<\/strong> has been honored as the Indoor Track and Field MVP<\/strong> by the St. John\u2019s University Athletic Department<\/strong>. The announcement came during the university\u2019s 79th Annual Athletics Awards Celebration<\/strong>, recognizing outstanding performances across all sports programs for the 2024\u201325 season.<\/p>\n

Alves, a standout thrower, delivered a stellar season highlighted by personal bests<\/strong> of 15.69 meters in the shot put<\/strong> and 54.33 meters in the discus throw<\/strong>. These achievements not only propelled her to the top of her team but also earned her world rankings of #218 in the women\u2019s shot put<\/strong> and #333 in the discus throw<\/strong>, according to the latest international athletics data.<\/p>\n

Her performances consistently led the Red Storm women\u2019s track and field squad, showcasing her technical refinement, strength, and competitive spirit. The MVP title is a reflection of her relentless work ethic and her role as a key contributor to the team\u2019s success during the indoor season.<\/p>\n
