\"\"<\/a>St. George\u2019s, Grenada \u2013 June 11, 2025<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 A cadre of officers from the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has taken a significant step forward in emergency preparedness, following two intensive days of Emergency Response training conducted on June 10 and 11.<\/p>\n

The officers, representing various departments within the force, completed rigorous certification in\u00a0Heartsaver<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Stop the Bleeding<\/em>\u00a0protocols\u2014key skills that equip them to respond quickly and effectively to critical incidents involving trauma or medical emergencies.<\/p>\n

The training formed part of the\u00a0USNS COMFORT\u2019s Continuing Promise 2025 (CP-25) Mission<\/strong>, and was facilitated through a dynamic collaboration between the\u00a0University of Miami Global Institute for Community Health and Development<\/strong>, the\u00a0Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education<\/strong>, and the\u00a0United States Southern Command<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the course, officers were awarded official certification, acknowledging their competency in delivering first-response medical aid\u2014a vital component in safeguarding public safety and enhancing community confidence.<\/p>\n

“This training is not just theoretical. It\u2019s about real-world readiness. These are the same protocols used globally to preserve life in moments when every second counts,” a representative from the University of Miami explained during the certificate handover.<\/p>\n

The RGPF\u2019s participation reflects a deepening commitment to modernizing its approach to public service, particularly in a region where natural disasters, road accidents, and violent incidents can create high-pressure emergency situations. This initiative strengthens the Force\u2019s operational resilience while reinforcing the broader goal of citizen-focused policing.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Global Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine<\/strong>\u00a0is globally recognized for its dedication to humanitarian relief, public health education, and emergency readiness. By extending its expertise to first responders in Grenada, the Institute helps build a more capable and confident network of regional emergency service providers.<\/p>\n

The RGPF’s Commissioner welcomed the training, noting that “capacity-building of this nature helps bring us closer to international standards in law enforcement and emergency care.”<\/p>\n
