The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce that Grenadian national Moriah\u00a0 Howard has been awarded a Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship. Howard, a\u00a0 trained phlebotomist, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. George\u2019s\u00a0 University in 2022. She will pursue a Master of Science in Biology at Western\u00a0 Illinois University beginning in August 2025. Her program of study will run for\u00a0 two academic years and will provide advanced training in the biomedical sciences,\u00a0 with access to research and technology at the forefront of the field.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Howard intends to focus on microbiology with the goal of contributing to the\u00a0 treatment, prevention, and control of diseases that impact public health in\u00a0 Grenada. Her academic and professional pursuits align with the Fulbright\u00a0 Program\u2019s mission of fostering mutual understanding between the people of the\u00a0 United States and other nations while addressing global challenges through\u00a0 research and collaboration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government\u2019s flagship international academic\u00a0 exchange initiative. Since its inception in 1946, the program has provided more\u00a0 than 400,000 participants from over 160 countries the opportunity to study, teach,\u00a0 and conduct research, building lasting connections and advancing knowledge\u00a0 across communities and borders.
