A thirty-four member Grenada National swim team\u00a0 is set and ready to contend the 33rd\u00a0OECS Swim Championship at the Drewsbury Aquatic\u00a0 Centre in St. Vincent. Following the OECS team trials held at the end of September, GASA\u00a0 announced the team that will represent Grenada at the 2025 competition. It comprises a mixture of\u00a0 Girls and Boys in the following categories:<\/p>\n
8 & Under<\/b>: Brianne De Roche, Sydney Joseph, Layth St John, Jenson DeCaul, Jon Knoll \u00a0 Etxebarria\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
9 to 10<\/b>: Evie Twum-Barimah, Llewella Bernard, Maddison Charles, Halle Gooding, Mateo \u00a0 Thomas, Keshon Cobb, Ethan Clermont,\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
11 to 12<\/b>: Angeliner Glenes Jackson-Bain, Konna-Marie Munroe, Ethan Chu Fook, Patrick \u00a0 Dowden, Ramone Stewart, Ethan Gunpot\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
13 to 14<\/b>: Kristin Gresham, Zeia Ollivierre, Eliza-Rose Benjamin, Jaaziel Francis,\u00a0 Jacob Collymore, Kaleb Williams,\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
15 to 17<\/b>: Victoria Buxo, Keira Cawich, Elliot Fletcher, Mallon Paterson, Tariq Bethel\u00a0<\/i><\/b>18 & Over<\/b>: Anaika Otway, Kimberly Ince, Zackary Gresham, Nathan Fletcher\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Under the direction of Head Coach, Damique Walters and Assistant Coach Valorie Andrew, the\u00a0 team has engaged in a rigorous training regimen in preparation to compete. With many first-time competitors at OECS, great emphasis is being placed on ensuring our swimmers focus on\u00a0 technique development with a view to improving their skill level, ultimately to improving their\u00a0 competitive level.<\/p>\n
Team Grenada continues to focus on regaining the OECS Championship title, which has evaded\u00a0 Grenada over the past 3 years. Our team, normally supported by overseas based swimmers, will\u00a0 unfortunately not have the presence of Tilly Collymore, Sara Dowden, Gabrielle Hyson, nor Jenebi\u00a0 Benoit this year; however, team members are energized and focused with their eyes on the prize\u00a0 to compete to regain the OECS title.<\/p>\n
Team Grenada departs for St. Vincent on November\u00a05th\u00a0and 6th. The 2025 team will be managed\u00a0\u00a0by Ruth Collymore and ably supported by team officials, Vice President, Gail Purcell, PRO, Beverly Benoit, and Technical Assistant, Justin Steele. A strong contingent of parent supporters<\/p>\n
will also accompany the team to ensure the Grenadian spirit is alive and well to provide support to\u00a0\u00a0Team Grenada.<\/p>\n
