Marlon Glean, President, Grenada Football Association (GFA) is set to represent Grenada as a speaker at Soccerex Europe 2026, one of the most respected gatherings on the international football business calendar.

The event will be held at the iconic Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, with the main conference programme taking place on May 12–13. Soccerex Europe brings together senior leaders from clubs, leagues, federations, brands, investors, media, innovators and governing bodies to examine the President Glean is slated to participate in the session, “Football Without Borders: Expanding into New Markets,” a timely discussion focused on where football’s next era of growth will come from. His contribution will centre on positioning Grenada as an emerging football market and highlighting the practical opportunities that exist for investment in local clubs and players, as well as the potential for Grenada to host training camps and friendly matches involving European clubs.

“Grenada has an opportunity to position itself as an emerging football market with real value for the international game. We want to demonstrate that investment in our local clubs and players can strengthen development at home, while also creating opportunities for Grenada to welcome training camps and friendly matches involving European clubs. This is about opening doors, building strategic relationships and placing Grenada more deliberately on the global football map,” shared Marlon Glean, President, GFA.

His inclusion on yet another Soccerex platform is a notable moment for Grenada football because it creates space to present that proposition directly to global stakeholders. It reflects the increasing visibility of the country within international football circles and reinforces the fact that Grenada’s ambitions, market potential and regional perspective matter in conversations about the future of the sport. At a time when football development is being examined through the lenses of investment, innovation, governance and growth, Grenada is not simply observing those conversations, it is actively contributing to them.

This latest appearance also carries added significance because it follows President Glean’s participation at Soccerex Miami last year. That continuity matters. It suggests that Grenada’s contribution is not being viewed as a one-off appearance, but as part of an emerging and credible voice from the Caribbean in global football dialogue. Repeated invitations to platforms of this level also signal growing confidence in President Glean’s ability to speak to issues of football growth, market development and opportunity from the perspective of small but ambitious football nations.

There is also an important sustainability connection between the two Soccerex engagements. Soccerex Miami highlighted future-facing topics such as sustainable stadium design, while Soccerex Europe 2026 will be staged at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, a venue internationally recognised for sustainability, smart energy solutions and innovation in fan experience. For Grenada, that link is especially meaningful, as the future of football development is increasingly tied not only to technical growth on the field, but also to how football infrastructure, events and institutions are built to be resilient, responsible and future-ready.

President Glean’s participation therefore represents more than a speaking appearance. It is a strategic opportunity to champion Grenada as a credible emerging football market, build relationships with clubs, investors and football decision-makers, and highlight the country’s potential as a destination for development-driven football activity.

As Grenada continues its football development journey, opportunities of this nature help elevate the nation’s profile, deepen strategic networks and open doors for new thinking around club investment, player pathways, football tourism and international partnerships. It is another proud moment for the GFA, and another clear sign that Grenada is making meaningful moves on the global football stage.
