Government is providing clarity on the categories of public officers who are eligible to receive the 4% salary increase which goes into effect this month.<\/p>\n
The salary increase applies to established officers holding letters of appointment issued by the Public Service Commission; unestablished workers holding open-ended letters of appointment issued by the respective Permanent Secretaries, as well as daily paid workers.<\/p>\n
Persons holding fixed term contracts are not eligible for the salary increase.<\/p>\n
It was announced this week that the 4% salary increase is the third and final portion of a 10% increase agreed to with trade unions representing the workers. Increases of 3% percent have already been paid to public officers for each of the two preceding years, 2017 and 2018.<\/p>\n
