After a six-year break, the Fishing Capital of Grenada will see the return of the hosting of the two-day Gouyave Easter Regatta on the Gouyave Bay (L\u2019Anse) on 21st<\/sup>\u00a0and 22nd<\/sup>\u00a0April, 2019. \u00a0This year, R & A Promotions will collaborate with NLA-BLAST, official providers of video-lottery products in Grenada, to hold the all-day events from 9 a.m. daily.\u00a0 As this year\u2019s title sponsor, NLA-BLAST has pledged a contribution of over EC$25,000 to mark the 26th<\/sup>\u00a0year of the Regatta\u2019s existence.<\/p>\n

The Gouyave Easter Regatta will showcase fourteen locally-built work-boats with crews from a number of fishing-communities around Grenada, including Woburn, Sauteurs and Gouyave, contending to become champions on the sea.\u00a0 A number of other water-sports are lined up, including canoe and engine boat races, and swimming.\u00a0 On-shore competitions include football, greasy-pole climbing, fishing and strong-man races.\u00a0 Both local and foreign spectators are expected to be at the event to experience this rich, water-sports tradition and the skills and talents of some of Grenada\u2019s fisher-folks.\u00a0 Patrons can expect live performances from popular Grenadian artistes and local cuisine.<\/p>\n

NLA-BLAST\u2019s sponsorship of this event is in keeping with NLA\u2019s commitment to support sports, culture and nation-building within the Grenada. \u00a0In February, the company co-sponsored the Grenada Sailing Festival Work-Boat Regatta in the south of the island.\u00a0 In addition to its title sponsorship of the Gouyave Easter Regatta, NLA-BLAST specially supports a Gouyave All-Women Sailing Team at the festival \u2013 an initiative geared towards empowering women within the Gouyave community.<\/p>\n
