{"id":5930,"date":"2020-04-21T17:51:23","date_gmt":"2020-04-21T21:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drealfmgrenada.com\/?p=5930"},"modified":"2020-04-21T17:51:23","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T21:51:23","slug":"mstar-learning-support-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drealfmgrenada.com\/index.php\/2020\/04\/21\/mstar-learning-support-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"MSTAR Learning Support Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development, Religious Affairs and Information is pleased with the number of education officials, teachers and students who have logged in to the M-Star LSP platform thus far.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than 20,000 credentials have been granted to teachers and students and the process will continue as schools provide the required data to the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n<p>We are thankful for the support from FLOW and Digicel, as we expand into e-learning. Digicel has zero-rated the MSTAR platform and other recommended sites. No cost will be incurred when the platform is used.<\/p>\n<p>Available on the MSTAR platform, so far, are links to sites with content for students at the pre-primary, primary and secondary school levels. As the ministry continues to add resources, teachers are expected to do the same.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Features of M-Star LSP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interactive age-appropriate materials for students<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for teachers to upload and share their own content<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for teachers to create their independent e-resource libraries<\/li>\n<li>Analytics to capture and track students\u2019 performance<\/li>\n<li>Virtual classrooms to deliver learning content and materials<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for students to connect and collaborate with classmates<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for students and teachers to communicate<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Flexible online grade book that caters to all grading styles<\/li>\n<li>Standardised curriculum aligned to the CXC syllabi<\/li>\n<li>Access to CXC specimen papers<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Access to CXC syllabi<\/li>\n<li>Access to CXC practice tests corrected in real time<\/li>\n<li>Personal development courses for teachers and students<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office certification<\/li>\n<li>Learning-to-type programme<\/li>\n<li>Educational games<\/li>\n<li>Personal to-do list for students and teachers<\/li>\n<li>Personal Calendar<\/li>\n<li>Special features for special needs students: Automated accessibility checker, Text-To-Speech, text resizing, colour-scheme options, for users that are colour blind etc.<\/li>\n<li>Facilities for video conferencing<\/li>\n<li>Links to other e-learning platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In an effort to rigorously manage all activities on the M-Star platform, regular site maintenance will be conducted.
