In addition to the ongoing repairs on the Mt.\u00a0Pleasant, Windward and Hillsborough Pre-Primary Schools and the completion of significant upgrading of the L\u2019Esterre R.C. School and Bogles Pre-primary School, plans are in motion, by the Government of Grenada, to undertake major repairs at other schools in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.<\/p>\n
In the coming weeks, two school repair projects, costing EC $80,000.00, are expected to\u00a0commence as part of Government\u2019s effort to enhance the schools\u2019 environment and make them\u00a0more conducive for learning in the tune of\u00a0Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government, Hon.\u00a0Kindra Maturine-Stewart, said via a telephone interview that notwithstanding the challenges\u00a0faced by COVID-19, the Government of Grenada continues to invest significantly in the\u00a0education sector in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.<\/p>\n
The Minister added that while schools were on holiday, Government took the opportunity\u00a0to install new doors and windows, together with a complete kitchen redesign at the L\u2019Esterre R.C\u00a0School. Additionally, the Bogles Community Center\u2019s bottom floor was retrofitted to\u00a0accommodate the Bogles Pre-School. Hon. Kindra Maturine-Stewart said one of these was the\u00a0delivery of a 2018 election campaign promise to relocate the Bogles Pre-primary School to its\u00a0rightful place.<\/p>\n
In closing, Minister Stewart commended her Cabinet Colleague, Minister for Education, Human\u00a0Resource Development, Religious Affairs and Information, Hon.
