As part of Tourism Awareness Month under the theme \u2018Tourism connects us all\u2019, the\u00a0 Grenada\u00a0 Tourism\u00a0 Authority (GTA)\u00a0 is\u00a0 once\u00a0 again\u00a0 launching\u00a0 its People\u2019s\u00a0 Tourism\u00a0 Choice\u00a0 Awards\u00a0 with\u00a0 a\u00a0 virtual\u00a0 twist. The\u00a0 initiative,\u00a0 which\u00a0 began\u00a0 in\u00a0 2018, invites\u00a0 members\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 public\u00a0 to\u00a0 nominate\u00a0 and\u00a0 recognize\u00a0 individuals\/businesses\u00a0 making\u00a0 significant\u00a0 contributions\u00a0 to\u00a0 the Tourism industry in Grenada,\u00a0 Carriacou and\u00a0 Petite\u00a0 Martinique. Nominations\u00a0 can\u00a0 be\u00a0 submitted\u00a0 via\u00a0\u00a0Grenadatourismauthority@gmail.com\u00a0stating the name and address of the nominee,\u00a0 the\u00a0 category\u00a0 and\u00a0 a\u00a0 supporting\u00a0 paragraph\u00a0 as\u00a0 to\u00a0 why\u00a0 they\u00a0 should\u00a0 be\u00a0 recognized. Nominations\u00a0 for\u00a0 the ten\u00a0 (10) categories begin\u00a0 today and end on\u00a0Wednesday 18<\/b>th<\/b>\u00a0<\/b>November, 2020\u00a0 at\u00a0 midnight.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/b>The\u00a0 winners\u00a0 and\u00a0 award\u00a0 ceremony\u00a0 will\u00a0 be\u00a0 announced at the end of Tourism Awareness Month.<\/p>\n

  1. Creativity\/Innovation<\/b>\u2013 This category highlights a Tourism provider who\u00a0 has used creativity to enhance an existing product or used innovation in their\u00a0 COVID-19 operations to benefit the industry.<\/li>\n
  2. New Tourism Business<\/b>\u2013 This category highlights a business that has\u00a0 recently come on stream and is making an impact in the industry.<\/li>\n
  3. Virtual Leaders<\/b>-This category highlights a Tourism provider who uses virtual means (virtual reality, zoom webinars, augmented reality or other\u00a0 media) in their operations to allow customers to enjoy their products or\u00a0 services.<\/li>\n
  4. New Tours<\/b>-This category highlights a new tour that has been conceptualized\u00a0 or brought to fruition in the last year and has become popular.<\/li>\n
  5. Training-\u00a0<\/b>This category highlights a Tourism provider who has gone above\u00a0 and beyond in training its staff to become COVID ready or to deliver excellent\u00a0 service.<\/li>\n
  6. Resilience<\/b>\u2013 This category highlights an individual\/business that has changed\u00a0 and adapted to the new way of doing business and continues to be successful.<\/li>\n
  7. Transportation<\/b>-This category highlights a transportation provider that\u00a0 exhibits consistent excellent service with reliability, punctuality and fair\u00a0 pricing.<\/li>\n
  8. Service Excellence<\/b>-This category highlights a person\/business that has\u00a0 consistently exemplified excellent service throughout the business or their\u00a0 operations.<\/li>\n
  9. Special Awards<\/b>-This category highlights a person or business that\u00a0 exemplifies excellence in multiple categories including service excellence,\u00a0 resilience, innovation and social responsibility.<\/li>\n
