National Swimmer Delron Felix departs Grenada\u00a0 today,\u00a0 April\u00a0 21,\u00a0 2021\u00a0 to\u00a0 participate\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 UANA\u00a0 Swimming\u00a0 Tokyo\u00a0 Qualifier.\u00a0 \u00a0 The\u00a0 competition slated for April 29th\u00a0\u2013 May 2nd\u00a0will be staged in Clermont Florida.\u00a0\u00a0As a FINA approved event, swimmers who participate will be eligible to qualify for the 2020 Olympic\u00a0\u00a0Games, Junior Pan-American Games, and World Championships.<\/p>\n
In spite of the set backs caused the by the COVID-19 pandemic, Felix has continued\u00a0\u00a0to train with his eye set on attaining the qualifying standard for the Tokyo Olympic\u00a0\u00a0Games. Felix presently holds the highest FINA points ranking and additionally he is\u00a0\u00a0the only swimmer to have attained the Youth Olympic qualifying time. With Tokyo\u00a0\u00a0on the horizon he now has his eyes set on the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n
Florida based Grenadian National Swimmer Kerry Ollivierre, is also carded to\u00a0 participate in the Olympic Qualifier at UANA in his bid to make the qualifying\u00a0standard for Tokyo. Ollivierre continues to pursue his swimming career at the\u00a0\u00a0AZURA Training Camp on a FINA scholarship, similar to that which was completed\u00a0\u00a0by Felix in 2019.<\/p>\n
Coach Nataly Sierra, will join Felix in Florida immediately on the heels of the just concluded World Para Swimming Competition, with National Para Swimmer Nye Cruickshank.<\/p>\n
