Quarantine facilities in Grenada\u00a0will face removal from the Ministry of Health\u2019s approved quarantine facility list, if their\u00a0employees are not fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n
June 1, 2021 was the deadline given by the Ministry of Health for all quarantine facilities\u00a0to ensure that their staff members are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Grenada Tourism Authority, last week\u00a0embarked on the inspection of various quarantine sites across the island, a process geared\u00a0towards ensuring that the workers and quarantined individuals remain safe.<\/p>\n
Starting on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health will begin issuing warning letters to\u00a0properties that are not in full compliance with this stipulation. If remedial action is not\u00a0immediately taken, these properties will be delisted as quarantine facilities, effective\u00a0Friday, June 4, 2021.<\/p>\n
Health Minister, Hon. Nickolas Steele explained that a quarantine facility can be reinstated\u00a0when it complies with the requirements to ensure that all persons employed at the facility\u00a0are vaccinated.<\/p>\n
At Tuesday\u2019s Post Cabinet Press Briefing, the Minister also provided clarification on the\u00a0approval lists maintained by the Ministry of Health and the Grenada Tourism Authority.<\/p>\n
The GTA list identifies properties which have completed the relevant training of staff and\u00a0have been certified for opening. In the case of hotels, this applies to homestay guests only.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Health list on the other hand, specifically identifies properties that are\u00a0recognized as quarantine facilities.<\/p>\n
The Minister further explained that a facility may be removed from the Ministry of Health\u2019s\u00a0approved list, but still be allowed to remain on the GTA\u2019s list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
