{"id":9670,"date":"2021-11-16T11:58:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T15:58:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drealfmgrenada.com\/?p=9670"},"modified":"2021-11-16T11:58:23","modified_gmt":"2021-11-16T15:58:23","slug":"saep-introduces-trichanthera-to-farmers-as-part-of-csa-community-awareness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drealfmgrenada.com\/index.php\/2021\/11\/16\/saep-introduces-trichanthera-to-farmers-as-part-of-csa-community-awareness\/","title":{"rendered":"SAEP Introduces Trichanthera To Farmers As Part Of CSA Community Awareness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture, through the use of Tricanthera or Madre de Agua; a\u00a0\u00a0 high protein source, native to Colombia; the Climate Smart\u00a0 Agriculture &amp; Rural Enterprise Programme (SAEP), held an informative practical session engaging farmers of the St.Mark\u2019s Farmer\u2019s Organisation on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The activity demonstrated the practices involved in the Establishment of trichanthera along with csa practices, such as, Site selection, manual land preparation, plant material selection, organic potting mix for Propagation, spacing and mulching.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Having planted the first set of Tricanthera trees on his plot, during the practical exercise on Monday, George Holder, President of the Organisation explained that its introduction augurs well for them. Farmers will also be provided with a technical guide that will provide tips for growing Tricanthera.
